Why it comes out cheaper than what you have

Most shift-based businesses end up paying for three things: an HR system for holiday and records, a rota product for scheduling, and something to record hours. None of them talk to each other, so somebody reconciles them by hand every payroll run.

Rotasmith is all three. That is not only a smaller bill — it is the reason it can warn you that approving a holiday request leaves Tuesday night below safe staffing, which a leave system cannot do, because it has never seen your rota.

Common questions

Is there a minimum term?
No. It is monthly, and you can stop whenever you like. If you do, your rota and clock keep working in read-only — we do not lock a care home out of tonight's staffing over an invoice.
What counts as a person?
Anyone on your books who is not deactivated, because they are on the rota and counting towards cover. Deactivate a leaver and the next invoice follows.
Do we need a card to try it?
No. Thirty days free with no card. We will always ask before charging you anything.
What about staff who don't have a smartphone?
Put a tablet on the office wall and they clock in on that. There is no app to install either way — it runs in a browser and saves to the home screen like an app.
Can you move our existing rota across?
Yes. Paste your staff list from a spreadsheet and set the patterns, and the rota generates. For a pilot we will do that with you on a call.
